Welcome to Manaaki Massage

Kia ora, I’m Clara, the founder and therapist behind Manaaki Massage - a practice dedicated to offering compassionate, effective, and intuitive bodywork.

The name Manaaki comes from the Māori word meaning to care, support, respect, and uplift, and it’s at the heart of everything I do. My approach to massage is guided by a deep sense of intuition - listening to both your body and mine, allowing me to work with the flow of energy and tension in a way that is both purposeful and healing.

I specialise in:

Deep Tissue & Trigger Point Therapy: Helping to release chronic tension, pain, and stress.
Myofascial Release: A gentle, intuitive approach to release tight fascia and restore flexibility and mobility.
Relaxation Massage: Designed to calm the mind, reduce stress, and promote a profound sense of relaxation.
Every session is tailored to your specific needs. By tuning into your body’s signals, I work to unlock areas of discomfort and restore balance. My work isn’t just about addressing physical symptoms, but also about cultivating a space where you can truly relax and reconnect with yourself.

When I’m not working, you’ll often find me on the Fiordland trails, running, hiking, biking, or swimming — activities that allow me to recharge and reconnect with nature. The energy and clarity I gain from these outdoor pursuits flow into my practice, deepening my intuition and ability to provide care.

Manaaki Massage is an invitation to pause, listen, and honor your body. I look forward to supporting you on your wellness journey, helping you to feel more aligned, relaxed, and at ease.

Thank you for visiting. I’m excited to work with you.

It was great service, relaxing atmosphere and clara was lovely

Love, love, love having a massage with Clara. I have various issues with my neck, back and shoulders and her deep tissue massage is intense but absolutely hits the mark. Getting increased mobility and being able to stand up straighter by the end of an hour is great!

Another astute massage treatment yesterday. Thoroughly recommend Clara to anyone looking for a precise, empathetic, knowledgeable yet humble therapist. Great value too.

Lovely calm environment and Clara is great at what she does. Couldn't recommend highly enough.

It was a great massage - just what my back needed - it just hurt like ………. I would certainly recommend you Clara.

This was the best massage I’ve ever had. Clara has a truly special gift—her natural talent, intuition and care made the whole experience feel incredibly personal and restorative.

A great deep tissue & trigger point massage. Thanks Clara.

Clara was very professional, friendly and found all the spots that needed working on. The pressure was good so my muscles were able to be worked on without feeling tense. I would recommend her and I have rebooked.

Used a voucher for a relaxation massage, it was bliss! Highly recommend this option for that hard to buy for person everyone has in their lives. Lovely setting. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Every session with Clara feels great, and her experience really shows. She’s knowledgeable, consistent, and has become one of those lifestyle habits I truly value. Until next time! Fab :)

A wonderful relaxing massage - just what I needed to help me wind down before the weekend. Thanks so much.

Amazing massage as always, thanks Clara!

Clara has such a lovely space and is always so good at what she does!!

Always a highlight of my day going to Manaaki Massage!
I always walk out feeling completely reset, body and mind. From the moment you arrive you feel genuinely looked after, and the whole space is so warm and relaxing. She truly lives up to the name. If you're in Te Anau and need a massage, you won't find better. Five stars doesn't feel like enough!
Thanks Clara!

I would ideally rate this service ten stars. Clara provided exceptional service, and I highly recommend it.

Worked extra on the areas that I said were tight. Great pressure, nice and relaxing

Always feel so much better after seeing Clara. A nice deep massage!!!

I booked the one and a half hour deep tissue massage as I was suffering from pain in my shoulders and neck. It was amazing, one week later and I’m still feeling the benefits of my massage. A wonderful relaxing experience, I’ll be back!

Excellent massage therapist, would highly recommend.

The most gentle relaxing massage I've ever had! Clara is lovely and makes the whole experience calming and soothing. Highly recommend.

Just wonderfully floaty.. and a reminder to get a message more often.. I'll be back next week!

Brilliant as always. Clara knows her stuff. I’ve had a lot of different massages over the years due to my fibromyalgia. And Clara is one of the best. Very knowledgeable when it comes to knowing muscle groups. Just amazing

Very attentive massage! Responsive to client needs. So relaxing 😌 can't wait for the next one.

Great massage. Professional, relaxing, and exactly what I needed. Left feeling so refreshed. I highly recommend!

This is the second massage I’ve had with Clara and she’s been fantastic both times. I really appreciate the slower, more gradual approach she uses when working into tight muscles - it helps you relax properly rather than tense up through the treatment. She’s also extremely knowledgeable about the body, recovery, and training, and offers thoughtful, practical advice along the way. Highly recommend & I wish I lived closer!

Absolutely amazing! Thank you Clara, it was like time stopped, my 1 hour session felt like the clock stopped and I got 2 hours! I love the passion you have for Aotearoa and also your Mahi 🥰

I had a relaxation massage with Clara and it was truly wonderful. My body felt completely relaxed and my mind was so calm after her one-hour session. I highly highly recommend Manaaki Massage.

Wonderful massage - Clara was thorough, friendly and professional. Highly recommend :)

Exactly what I needed. A deep tissue massage that released a lot of tension, especially in my legs, thank you!

Not only have I had two glorious massages with Clara, but today my mum came in - she has a consistently sore back and today she has felt NO PAIN after the magic that Clara spun in her hour massage. Thank you Clara for mum’s best NZ massage ❤️

Clara, thank you so much for this exceptional massage! After hiking the TA I was very sore and you were able to relieve my whole body from all the soreness!
Really appreciate it a lot.

Clara is very thorough and a great therapist. I will go back for more.

Loved every moment....so relaxed and I smelled so beautiful afterwards that my kids did not want to let go of me. I will be back for more "me" pampering. Thank you thank you

A lovely, relaxed approach with attention to specific areas requiring extra work. Great to have such a service locally!

Awesome, best Ive ever had. I got out there feeling better about life

Clara did a great job at fixing my back ! Her deep massage really helped me and relieved me from the pain. She unlocked all the knots I had in my back and I could do a hike the next day ! Thanks you very much

Her vibe is so calm, and she has this incredible knack for finding exactly where the tension is hiding. I walked out feeling like a new person, way more mobile. Seriously, treat yourself to a session at Manaaki Massage; your body will thank you!

Lucky to get a last minute appointment with Clara. After assessment, she worked on my damaged shoulder and upper back with great care and precision.

Always here for you, sore, you'll never be out of business 🤣

Loved my deep-tissue massage with Clara today. She has an intuitive touch and a natural ability to sense what the body needs. Her warm, easy rapport instantly puts you at ease. I even felt relief in my sacroiliac joint when I went for a walk later this afternoon.
Highly recommend looking after your mind and body by paying her a visit.

A wonderful massage! The temp of the room was perfect, music was lovely and I was left feeling lighter and relaxed afterwards.

I have been going to Clara for a long time and she has always done an excellent job. Very professional in her approach, relaxing atmosphere and quality massage every time.

My massage with Clara was just what I needed. She listened to me while I explained what my " problem" was and she used her massage expertise to work on that area of my body. Thanks so much Clara.
