Our groomer, Laura, is trained to the highest standard, with a minimum Level 3 City and Guilds Diploma. She is also committed to furthering her knowledge and training, and in addition has been trained in animal handling, canine behaviour and body language and canine first aid.    At the Dirty Dawg we offer Holistic style of grooming, this is a personalised experience where each dog receives individual attention from the groomer. With one dog in the salon at a time, the focus is solely on your dog's needs, minimising anxiety and creating a relaxing environment. This approach ensures that every grooming session is tailored to the specific requirements and comfort of each dog. We proudly provide a range of additional services to enhance your experience with us, including convenient at home pick up and drop off, and pet portraits.

Terms and conditions

Cancellations and Deposits – Please allow a minimum of 24 hours’ notice for any cancellations or amendments. If a deposit has been taken and you cancel before the 24 hour cut off, your deposit will be carried over to your next groom. If you cancel with less than 24 hours notice your deposit will not be returned. 

No shows – If you do not arrive for your appointment, I will unfortunately have to charge you the full price of the missed groom and take a deposit for your next appointment. 

Poor behaviour -  For your dogs welfare, along with our safety - we have the right at any point to terminate a groom. 

Ingrown nails or prior injuries – I am unable to remove Ingrown nails, due to the risk of infection. They would need to be removed by a vet and any infections treated. If an ingrown nail is found after the groom has commenced, you will be advised at pick up and urged to seek veterinary treatment. 

Fleas – If your dog is found to have fleas, I may decline the groom until treated. If the dog has already been admitted and grooming has commenced when the fleas are discovered, then a charge of £15 will be added to the groom to fumigate the salon, I must do this to prevent them being passed to other dogs. We reserve the right to terminate the groom at anytime. 

Pregnant and nursing dogs – I cannot groom pregnant or nursing dogs, unless your veterinarian has specifically requested the dog needs to be groomed for its welfare. Prior to your appointment, please provide your veterinary contact information so I may discuss the requirements and welfare of the dog with them. I require written consent before any grooming takes place.

Matting policy – Dematting in not included in the price of the groom, there will be an extra charge for the service due to the extra wear and tear on equipment. This charge is £20 on top of the full groom price. If a dog is in a severely matted condition, it can be very painful for the dog, therefore, using normal de-matting techniques cannot be used on any matted dog. My only option is to clip the fur very close to the skin to remove the matting. I cannot knowingly cause an animal pain, under the Animal Welfare Act 2006. Clipping a matted dog will take longer than a regular clip because the blades must run below the matt very close to the skin, this may cause irritation (Clipper rash) because the clipper blades can get hot but we do take regular breaks and have multiple blades on hand to try avoid this. Dogs who are clipped so close to the skin are much more prone to clipper rash and may display redness or itching soon after the groom. Please be aware that we may uncover fleas, sores, inflammation or self-inflicted wounds and other potential problems which have been hidden by the matted hair.

Privacy policy – The Dirty Dawg Grooming Salon may collect the following data, which includes personal data from you: Your name and current address; contact information such as email address and telephone number. Your personal information will be held securely in accordance with the GDPR (EU) 2016/679 for use in conducting business with The Dirty Dawg Grooming Salon. I allow the collection and use of my data. 

Social media – I allow photos to be posted on social media sites. The Dirty Dawg Grooming Salon will take pictures of your dog before and after the groom for the purposes of posting on social media to use in advertising the business. Your name and your dogs name will not be added to the picture.

Laura is so patient and caring with Marlowe, he’s had a fair few groomers and he was always so fearful and hated going. He absolutely loves coming to Laura, she recognises when he needs a break and takes the extra time if he needs it rather than rushing the job. Means a lot to have that trust and makes it so much easier and stress free. Even after her move we continue to travel 45 mins to see her. The cut is always what I’ve asked for and my kids love the extra touches (cute bows at Xmas). 

My dog has recently had surgery and Laura was so gentle and kind with him. I know he us in safe hands when he is with her, and he comes away looking handsome and smelling beautiful. I would definitely recommend Laura

Laura is fantastic! She took time to get to know and desensitise our St Bernard puppy and he loves going for The Full Monty. He comes back smelling amazing and very relaxed. Highly recommended.

Laura was amazing with our little Pomeranian and Miki.  It was their first visit with Laura.  Laura took her time so as not to upset the dogs, they came out looking fab with tails wagging.  Got some very good advice fir our Pomeranian's coat.  Highly recommend 👌
