🐾 Land of Paws Grooming Policies Humanity Over Vanity — Your Dog’s Comfort Comes First At Land of Paws, we are committed to providing a safe, calm, and compassionate grooming experience. These policies are designed to protect your pet and our small business. We sincerely appreciate your understanding and cooperation. ⸻ ✂️ Coat Condition, Matting & Additional Grooming Fees The condition of your dog’s coat directly affects both safety and grooming results. • Dogs with severe or tight matting, especially matting close to the skin, will be shaved for safety reasons • Matting can cause discomfort, skin irritation, restricted movement, and hide injuries • Excessive matting may result in additional fees, based on severity, time required, and equipment wear • De-matting will not be performed if it causes pain, stress, or safety risks If you prefer a fluffy or scissor-style cut, your dog must be: • On a consistent grooming schedule every 3–4 weeks • Brushed regularly at home between appointments Removing weeks or months of tangles during a single appointment is not safe or realistic. Shorter coat lengths can typically go 6–8 weeks and require less maintenance. ⸻ ⏰ Appointment Time & Late Arrivals We value your time and kindly ask the same in return. • A 15-minute grace period is provided for all appointments • Arrivals after 15 minutes will incur a $15 late fee • Arrivals 30 minutes or more late may require the appointment to be rescheduled, depending on availability and circumstances Late arrivals impact scheduled pets after you. Repeated lateness may result in booking limitations. ⸻ 🚫 No-Show Policy A No-Show occurs when a client does not arrive for their appointment and does not contact us to cancel or reschedule. • No-shows may be charged the full grooming fee • This policy exists due to lost appointment time and revenue • Repeated no-shows may result in refusal of future bookings ⸻ 🔔 Cancellation & Rescheduling Policy We respectfully require at least 24 hours’ notice for cancellations or reschedules. • Cancellations or reschedules made with less than 24 hours’ notice may result in a $30–$45 fee per pet, depending on services booked • Same-day cancellations are considered last-minute All no-show, late cancellation, or rescheduling fees must be paid in full before future appointments can be scheduled. ⸻ 🐕 Behavior, Handling & Safety Your dog’s safety is always our highest priority. • Special handling fees may apply for pets requiring extra time, patience, or assistance due to anxiety, behavior, age, or health • Grooming services may be modified, paused, or stopped if a pet becomes overly stressed, aggressive, or unsafe to groom • We reserve the right to refuse or discontinue services if grooming cannot be completed safely ⸻ 🐶 Puppy Grooming Policy To protect young puppies and all pets in our care: • We groom puppies 14 weeks of age and older • Puppies must be fully vaccinated before their first appointment • Puppies younger than this have developing immune systems and are more vulnerable to illness Once vaccinations are complete, we are happy to introduce your puppy to grooming in a gentle, positive, and low-stress environment. ⸻ 🐾 Senior Dog & Medical Disclaimer We love caring for senior dogs and pets with special needs and will always groom them with extra patience and compassion. • Grooming senior pets or pets with medical conditions carries increased risk due to age, mobility limitations, skin sensitivity, or underlying health issues • Grooming services may be modified or shortened to reduce stress and physical strain • We may recommend comfort grooms, breaks, or partial services when appropriate • Land of Paws is not responsible for pre-existing medical conditions, age-related complications, or stress-related reactions that may occur. If your pet has medical concerns, mobility issues, seizures, heart conditions, or anxiety, please inform us before the appointment so we can best accommodate their needs. ⸻ 💉 Vaccination Requirements Updated vaccination records are required for all new clients and may be requested for returning clients when necessary to maintain a safe environment. ⸻ 💳 Payment Policy Payment is due upon pickup.
