 James (House of Baxter) is a Level 3 City & Guilds qualified dog groomer who studied at The GroomArts in St Albans. with years of experience. I  provide all grooming services for all breeds of dogs ensuring they look and feel their best. I use high-quality Organic products and techniques to give your furry friends a pampering experience. From baths and haircuts to nail trims and ear cleaning, I offer a wide range of grooming services to keep your pets clean and healthy. At House of Baxter, I understand the importance of regular grooming for your pets' well-being and I am dedicated to providing exceptional care and service to every furry client.

Our policy for failed or cancelled appointments is as follows:

A significant amount of valuable grooming time is wasted when an appointment is not attended; time which could otherwise have been allocated to another clients dog.

CANCELLED appointments will not usually incur any charge. If it is not possible to keep an appointment please let us know as soon as possible so we can offer the appointment time to someone else. We require at least two days’ notice for any cancellation. 48hrs notice prior to appointment incurs a charge of 50% of the appointment cost, appointment cancellation after 48hrs incurs full payment. 

FAILED appointments that incur will need to be settled  before further appointments can be made.

If appointments are repeatedly failed or cancelled at short notice we may ask for further appointments to be paid for in advance, where the full cost of the time allocated is paid on booking. In these cases the appointment fee would be charged whether or not you are able to attend.

James was excellent with our cairn Maggie.  She looks amazing plus he takes the time to get to know your dog and make them feel at ease which for me is the most important thing.  Would highly recommend House of Baxter to anyone : )

James is brilliant. We’ve been taking our miniature schnauzer to him for the past three years and wouldn’t trust her with anyone else. She always gets compliments on her coat when we’re out and about. James is kind and gentle with her, clearly knows what he’s doing, and takes real pride in his work. On top of that, he’s just a genuinely lovely bloke.

We would never go anywhere else but House of Baxter for our dogs grooming. James always does an amazing job, and our little dog Archie would not trust anyone else - he loves visiting! Would highly recommend :)

I took my 14 week old Bernedoodle puppy to James for her first groom this week (puppy socialisation groom). He was so reassuring and gentle with her and I felt completely at ease leaving her with him. He explained exactly what he would do to get her used to the groom and I collected her an hour later. She looked beautiful and her coat looked so floofy! And she smells delicious! Thank you James for making this a great first time experience for Stevie and I! We have already booked to come back :)

We’ve been to the House of Baxter Groom Room twice now to have my 1 year old dogs nails clipped James was so patient and kind to her he clipped her nails so beautifully and professionally i wouldn't trust myself cutting my dogs nails so glad James does that for us we will be visiting James from now on for my dogs needs what a pleasant person to deal with, a first class service and reasonably priced, we will be seeing you soon James thank you PS stormy said thank you for the treats!
