Puppy Socialising Groom - De-sensitising your puppy to the grooming process.

A positive first experience will pave the way for a lifetime of enjoyable and stress-free grooming appointments for you and your dog. It’s recommended that once you get your dog desensitize it is best to have a regular grooming schedule. Regularly grooming your dog will help get them. use to the situation and build their confidence over time. It’s not enough to book in one socialising appointment as they’re likely to have forgotten their progress last time. I recommend 4wk socialising sessions whilst your puppy is growing. The sessions will include introducing your dog to the grooming table, safety harnesses and straps, bathing-dryers-brushing-clippers (noise and vibration) and nail clipping.

Hand Stripping

Hand stripping is a grooming technique used to remove dead hair from a dog's coat by hand, promoting healthy skin and a neat appearance. Dogs who have been neutered or spayed may not be suitable for hand stripping due to hormonal changes. This can effect the coats re growth making it uncomfortable to strip some dogs
