A Trenton, Tennessee native, William rose from local standout at Peabody High School—where he earned All‑West Tennessee Pitcher of the Year honors—to making his Major League debut with the Atlanta Braves in 2022. Over a 7-year professional career with the Braves and Mets, he developed a deep understanding of what it takes to compete at the highest level. Now retired from pro ball and grounded in a mission to serve, Coach Woods is passionate about equipping young athletes with not only the mechanics of the game but the mindset to thrive in life. Whether you’re chasing a dream or just starting your journey, there’s no better guide than someone who’s walked the path.

Private Lessons with William Woods

My 11 year old son had his first lesson with Coach Woods today. He left the session with more confidence and excitement for the future. He connected immediately with my athlete and broke down concepts to where they stick. My kid is ready to go to work and can’t wait until his next session to show his growth! 

Hands down our best experience yet with lessons! As a parent, my favorite part is the fact that my son is encouraged by many factors but particularly remembering a bible verse. My son is so excited about his experience and future with Pitching with Woods! 

William made an impact from the very first lesson. He provides clear, expert instruction and takes the time to sit down with Bray to explain exactly what needs to improve and how to get there. His encouragement builds real confidence, which makes a huge difference. The fact that Bray immediately asks when he can go back after each lesson truly says it all.

My son enjoyed it very much and feels will be learning a lot as he continues to work with Mr. Woods

This was our first private lesson, he was great with my 8yo old. Stern but encouraging. We will definitely be booking future lessons.

I am so Thankful that I  found William Woods.  I had been looking for someone to work with my 10 year old  Grandson on his pitching and had not been able to find anyone.  I found him through a mutual friends FB page. 

We have had 2 lessons and have made a lot of progress already.  He is throwing harder and hitting his target more consistently. 
I highly recommend William Woods!!!
We will definitely continue the pitching lessons and will be adding other things as well.


Coach William is great with the kids he trains. He Challenges them and motivates them to be their best. My son Knox has been to him only two times so far and I can already see improvements in his pitching mechanics. 

We’ve had an amazing experience working with William Woods for coaching and pitching lessons for our son, Easton. William is not only incredibly knowledgeable about the game, but he’s also patient and really knows how to connect with young players. Easton’s pitching mechanics and confidence have improved so much since he started working with William. He makes each session fun, challenging, and tailored to what Easton needs most. William truly cares about the person, on and off the field.

William is Awesome!!!!! My twins loved it.

We have had one lesson and Ethan cannot wait to come back! He has been talking nonstop about what he learned and what he is going to work on. His baseball spark has been reignited!
