Hope’s Happy Tails Grooming Policies & Terms of Service At Hope’s Happy Tails, every dog deserves patience, kindness, and individual attention. My goal is to make grooming a positive experience while prioritizing your dog’s comfort, safety, and well-being. By booking an appointment, you acknowledge and agree to the following policies. 1. Appointments & Cancellations Appointments are reserved specifically for your pet. Please provide at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule. Late cancellations, missed appointments, or repeated last-minute changes may result in a cancellation fee or a deposit requirement for future bookings. If you are running late, please contact me as soon as possible. Late arrivals may require a shortened appointment or rescheduling to avoid compromising your pet’s care. 2. Health & Vaccination Requirements For the safety of every pet, dogs must be in suitable health for grooming and have current rabies vaccination documentation as required by applicable law. Please disclose any medical conditions, allergies, medications, skin issues, recent surgeries, mobility concerns, or sensitivities before your appointment. If your dog appears ill or has a contagious condition, the appointment may need to be rescheduled. 3. Behavior & Comfort Hope’s Happy Tails provides one-on-one, gentle grooming focused on your dog’s physical and emotional well-being. Please disclose any history of biting, snapping, fear, anxiety, handling sensitivities, or difficulty with grooming. If a dog becomes excessively stressed, aggressive, or unsafe to groom, I reserve the right to pause, modify, or discontinue the service. Your dog’s safety and comfort always come first. Additional time, modified services, or a different grooming approach may be necessary depending on your dog’s individual needs. 4. Matting & Coat Condition Severely matted coats can cause discomfort and may conceal skin irritation, sores, or other problems. When dematting would cause unnecessary pain or stress, a shorter haircut may be recommended instead. Additional charges may apply for extra time or specialized handling. I will discuss significant coat concerns and recommended changes with you before proceeding whenever possible. Hope’s Happy Tails cannot guarantee a particular haircut or finish when coat condition, matting, behavior, or health limits what can safely be achieved. 5. Senior Dogs & Special Needs Senior pets and dogs with special needs are welcome. Their appointments will be approached with patience and consideration for their individual limitations. Please share any relevant health or mobility concerns before the appointment. Grooming may need to be adjusted, shortened, or discontinued if continuing would compromise your dog’s well-being. Veterinary clearance may be requested when a known condition raises a significant safety concern. 6. Fleas, Ticks & Parasites Please notify me if your dog has fleas, ticks, or another known parasite concern. If parasites are discovered during grooming, I may stop the service or recommend appropriate next steps to protect your pet and maintain a clean grooming environment. Additional cleaning charges or rescheduling fees may apply when disclosed and agreed to. 7. Accidents, Injuries & Emergencies Although every reasonable precaution is taken, grooming involves handling equipment, bathing, drying, and working around sensitive areas. Unexpected reactions or accidents can occur. I will take reasonable precautions to protect your pet and contact you promptly if a concern arises. If emergency veterinary care is necessary, I will make reasonable efforts to contact you and your designated veterinarian. If you cannot be reached, emergency decisions will be guided by the circumstances and applicable law. Pet parents are responsible for veterinary expenses associated with their pet’s care, except to the extent responsibility is otherwise established by applicable law. 8. Pricing & Payment Pricing depends on your dog’s size, breed, coat condition, temperament, service requested, and time required. Quoted prices may change if additional work is needed. Any significant price adjustment will be discussed with you before proceeding whenever reasonably possible. Payment is due upon completion of services unless another arrangement has been agreed upon in advance. 9. Pickup & Pet Supervision Please arrange to pick up your dog promptly when notified that grooming is complete. If you anticipate being delayed, please communicate with me as soon as possible. Any late-pickup or extended-care fee must be communicated and agreed upon in advance. Please ensure your dog arrives securely leashed or in an appropriate carrier and is collected safely after the appointment. 10. Results & Grooming Limitations Every dog’s coat, skin, comfort level, and grooming tolerance are different. I will make reasonable efforts to achieve the agreed-upon style while prioritizing safety and comfort. Results may vary because of coat condition, matting, previous grooming, behavior, or health limitations. Please communicate your preferences and concerns before grooming begins. 11. Photos & Social Media I may occasionally wish to photograph completed grooms or share pictures of pets on Hope’s Happy Tails’ social media pages. Your permission will be requested before your pet’s photos are used for marketing or promotional purposes. Declining photo permission will not affect your ability to book grooming services. 12. Contact & Communication Please provide accurate contact information and a reliable emergency contact when requested. Notify me of any changes that could affect your pet’s care.
