The Hound Lounge

The Hound Lounge Terms and Conditions
1. Booking Deposit:
● Owners are required to pay a deposit to secure their appointment when booking. This
can be carried over to secure future appointments should you wish. Refunds will only
be applicable in accordance with the cancellation policy.
2. Cancellations:
● We require 48 hours notice for any cancellations or rescheduling. This is so we have
enough time to offer the appointment to another dog needing our services. If an
appointment is missed any deposit paid will be lost and a new one will be taken to
secure any future appointments. Repeat cancellations may result in the full cost
being required upfront.
3. Late Arrival:
● We run on a tight schedule and so we reserve the right to refuse a groom if you are
unable to attend on time. However we will always try to accommodate your dog as
much as possible and do what we can with the time frame. A refusal will be treated
as a no-show.
4. Late Collection:
● We understand if you are running late, pet owners will have up to 30 minutes to pick
up their pet after the agreed collection time. Thereafter, the pet owner will be charged
£10 per 30 minutes.
5. Pre-groom
● All pets should be relieved before their appointment.
● Please do not feed your dog within 30 minutes prior to their appointment.
● We recommend puppies wait two weeks after their second vaccination before
booking a puppy groom.
6. Vaccinations:
● By using our services, owners confirm that their dog is up to date with their annual
vaccinations against Canine Distemper, Infectious Canine Hepatitis, Leptospirosis
and Canine Parvovirus.
● An unvaccinated dog may put itself and others at risk. The Hound Lounge take no
responsibility for any dog that may contract any of the aforementioned diseases.
7. Pet Health:
● To help us give the best experience possible, we would like to ask you to identify any
ongoing or new health conditions at the point of drop off. This is so we can make
your dog as comfortable as possible. We reserve the right to refuse service for
certain health conditions, such as open wounds. Procedures within the grooming
environment can be stressful for some dogs, especially for senior, young, overweight
dogs or those with medical concerns, The Hound Lounge reserves the right to stop
the grooming process at any time with payment in full being due on collection of your
dog.
8. Microchipping:
● Dogs microchipped within the last 24 hours will not be groomed.
9. Right to refuse:
● The Hound Lounge reserves the right to refuse grooming at the discretion of the
groomer.
10. Matted Dogs:
● At The Hound Lounge we proudly practice humanity over vanity so do not untangle
matted hair on pets as it can cause them discomfort and pain. Your pet’s happiness
and welfare is of utmost importance to us so if matting is present we will inform you
and discuss the most comfortable options for your pet in accordance with The Animal
Welfare Act 2006.
● The Hound Lounge accepts no responsibility for any vet fees if health issues, such as
skin sores, that are exposed when clipping off a matted coat. Owners will be required
to sign a matting form if their dog's coat is severely matted. Due to the wear and tear
to our equipment that matting causes a charge of £10+ may be incurred.
11. Pregnancy & Season:
● Please let us know if there is a chance that your dog is in season or pregnant as we
are unable to groom dogs under this condition for their welfare. Dogs in season are
at an increased risk of infection. Putting a pregnant dog through the stress of a
groom could potentially risk the health of the puppies. If your dog arrives at the salon
in season you will be declined service and lose any deposit paid.
● For dogs that have been in season they need to wait two weeks after the bleeding
has stopped, as this is a period where they are ready to mate and still in season.
Pregnant bitches will need to wait until puppies are weaned, usually around 5-7
weeks.
12. Parasites:
● The Hound Lounge reserves the right to decline to groom dogs with fleas. If your dog
is found to have fleas at drop off we may reschedule your appointment for the welfare
of other dogs coming through the salon that day. If your dog is found to have fleas
once being groomed, the groom will be completed (using flea shampoo to kill all
living fleas) however this will incur a charge of £15 for the time and cost of
disinfecting the salon.
● Ticks will be removed free of charge if found during a groom.
13. Vet Care:
● We endeavour to provide the best service possible, however if it is deemed at the
discretion of the groomer that the pet needs emergency veterinary attention the pet
owner agrees for The Hound Lounge to transport their dog to the nearest vet for
treatment if required. The pet owner also agrees to pay any and all costs.
14. Behaviour:
● To help set us up for success owners are obliged to inform The Hound Lounge of any
known aggressive behaviour traits their pet may have to other animals or humans.
There is also an obligation to inform us about dogs with nervous behaviours and
known triggers to ensure their safe and sensitive handling.
● An extra care charge may be required if a dog is particularly aggressive or nervous.
Due to the skill and toll these grooming sessions take on the groomer the extra
charge will allow for breaks to relieve both the dog and groomer. We reserve the right
to refuse the service if we believe your dog may become a danger to itself or those
within the salon.
● Aggressive dogs may be muzzled, owners refusal of this may result in a cancellation.
15. Liability:
● Owners are advised to insure pets; the salon is not liable for loss, injury, or illness.
16. Photos:
● We are pleased that you have chosen us to groom your dog and we are proud to
show off our skills. The Hound Lounge will sometimes use photos of your dog on our
website or social media. Please advise us if this is not acceptable.
17. Payment:
● Payment can only be taken by card, and is required upon drop off or collection of the
pet.
18. Slander:
● Under the Malicious Communications Act 1998 section 1, The Hound Lounge will not
accept or tolerate any slander, malicious falsehood or deformation via social media
outlets relating to a groom due to coats that have not been maintained at home
(matted coat), or miscommunication. If you are unhappy, we must be contacted within
48 hours of the groom so we can try and resolve the issue.
19. GDPR:
● In order for us to provide the requested services, we are required to obtain and store
a limited amount of your personal information. Such information will be stored in
accordance with all relevant legislation, will never be shared with any 3rd parties or
organisations and will only be used for the purposes of providing the requested or
related services. You have the right to request and review any of your personal
information.
● Data kept on paper will be destroyed after 3 months.
20. Amendment:
● The Hound Lounge reserves the right to amend terms and conditions at any time.
21. Trading Name:
● The Hound Lounge is the trading name for MW DOG GROOMING LTD, a company
registered in England.

Morgan did an amazing job with my Cocker Spaniel, Whisky! He looks absolutely adorable and came back smelling so fresh. Morgan is talented, professional, and great with dogs—we will definitely be back!

I'm really happy with my cockapoo dogs groom today,  amber was happy and settled after her haircut.  And her coat is tangle free and easier to look after especially when she jumps in the muddy puddles so often.

Took our retriever here for a groom. Previously, she has been somewhat of a challenge to groomers as she isn’t a big fan of it. We informed Morgan of this just in case our pooch was difficult. Upon collection, I was really pleased to hear our dog had not been an issue and the cut Morgan did was lovely! I found Morgan very helpful and knowledgeable and am really pleased! Will definitely be taking here for future grooms.

Morgan is a natural with dogs. She is a fantastic groomer and you know that she really cares. My collie cross is always relaxed and happy when I collect her and she looks and smells amazing. I cannot recommend Morgan highly enough, she really is amazing!

We bring our Golden Retriever to Morgan to be groomed. He’s LOVES coming to The Hound Lounge and always comes out beautifully groomed. 
I would  thoroughly recommend Morgan , she’s professional, punctual and does a great job.

I can’t recommend hound lounge enough, Morgan is brilliant not only because she is very good at grooming dogs but also she is very friendly, my dog has terrible anxiety problems but Morgan knows how to keep him calm.

They were very kind and professional with are little dog that can be a madam to have her claws cut. They did them without any problems, in a kind way and very gentle with her. Will be using again in the future 

We chose Morgan for the first time for our nervous rescue GSD at the groomers after seeing so many recommendations for her with this breed and temperament.  Morgan was reassuring and confident and Lola was comfortable enough to be left. She is now the softest, floofiest, sweet smelling dog! It must be such a relief for her to have all her old undercoat gone, nails trimmed and feet de-fluffed. We would highly recommend Morgan and the Hound Lounge

After being at The Hound Lounge, our scruffy dog emerged perfectly groomed. The grooming process was explained both prior to the event as well as afterwards, giving the impression our dog was well looked after.

I felt Buddy was safe and looked after well when I picked him up after his first time seeing Morgan.  This really counted for something - and he looked and smelled good too!

Morgan did an excellent job on Arthur!! He looked and smelt beautiful and he can’t wait for his next bath!!!
