Cancellation Policy: We understand that unforeseen circumstances can arise. If you need to cancel or reschedule your booking, we kindly ask for a minimum of 48 hours’ notice.

Please note: Deposits are non-refundable if cancellations are made with less than 48 hours’ notice. Deposits are also non-refundable in the event of a no-show.

Registration: Rider registration forms must be completed prior to your first lesson.

General Information: Horse riding is a risk sport and carries an element of unpredictability. While we take every possible step to ensure the safety of our clients, staff, and property, horses are living animals and may react unexpectedly.

By attending sessions or visiting the yard, all clients and visitors acknowledge and accept that participation is at their own risk and that there is a possibility of personal injury or loss.


My granddaughter had a wonderful ride at Old Town Stables. 
The staff and ponies are lovely and I would definitely recommend the stables.

Very nice experience. It was raining but we still had the ride. Will definatley come back. 

I struggle with anxiety and was very nervous about going on my own and also the fact that I hadn't ridden for alot of years, but when I got there and met my instructor she was brilliant and I thoroughly enjoyed myself, she was so thoughtful and caring, which has given me the confidence to go back and get lessons and I am looking forward to a session with Diana who is such a beauty.  Thank you for making me feel welcome and at ease 🤗

My son had his 1st riding lesson with lovely lady Lia she was amazing 

I took my granddaughter and she had a wonderful time. Learnt how to muck out a stable, groom a horse and then was taught to ride. She had a great time. The instructor was excellent.

We had such a fantastic experience with Cassidy’s horse riding lesson, from start to finish! 🐴💗 Everything was so well organised, and Cassidy had the best time. The staff were friendly, welcoming and made her feel comfortable and confident throughout.
It was lovely to see how much she enjoyed the experience, and she came away with a huge smile on her face! We would definitely recommend and will absolutely be returning. 🥰🐎

Such a lovely stables. We booked a pony ride for our 2 girls who had never ridden so they could try it out. They had a lovely time and can't wait to go again. The staff were all really lovely, especially Naomi who was great with. 

Lovely afternoon spent with my 7 year old grandson getting to know the animals and looking after them, seeing how much work goes into looking after the horses, ponies, donkey, chickens and ducks.  He really enjoyed the whole experience and soon settled in and taking part.  Lovely to see his confidence grow and smiles and laughter.  Thank you. 

We did the pony experience. It was absoloutely fabulous our 4 and 5 year old loved it. A great experience to learn how to care for ponies.

My two grandchildren had a wonderful time today at the riding school. The five year old was fearful but he was gently walked around and now wants to do it again. Thank you for being so patient with him.
The seven year old was given some good instructions and learned a lot. She is even more enthusiastic now. Well done Old Hemel Riding School.

When Ella had her pony experience she was a bit nervous but Grace reassured Ella, she was absolutely amazing! Highly recommend old town riding school 

We are about 8 lessons in for my 8 year old daughter, she rides every other week. Her Autism and ADHD mean she suffers to manage her emotions and her confidence is very low. I cannot explain how wonderful Lia is with her, literally the perfect approach. She pushes my daughter out of comfort zone but in the kindest way. She makes space for ‘waffle’ as she calls it, but a lot of learning takes place too. Lia has a gift with Neurodivergent people and I wish we could take her everywhere!

The boys really enjoyed the pony ride. The lady who led the rides was very attentive and made their experience amazing. Thank you and we will certainly come again.

We bought our granddaughter a pony ride for her fifth birthday, and as it was her first time riding a pony, we weren't sure what to expect. She absolutely loved it and said it was the best day ever.  The Staff were brilliant and made her feel totally relaxed.   It was excellent value for money, and we would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a special experience for their child.

We visited the Old Town Riding School for the first time and had a great experience. Staff were super friendly. My 2 children had a pony ride each. They were quite nervous but the staff were lovely and reassured them. They had a great time and we'll be visiting again soon.

My 8yo had her first lesson today, following some equine therapy and a little birthday party in march that she has had here as she lives horses. She is neurodiverse and struggles with much in life, but oh my goodness she was so happy during her lesson! Lia had the perfect approach with her, and for a little girl who is normally so anxious, she just smiled the whole time! Next lesson already booked, thank you!

My daughter had a pony party 4 years ago and it was brilliant! We then done a pony afternoon for my daughters. The staff are brilliant and make it fun filled for the kids. Would recommend 100%

What a lovely experience. Myself and my wife are complete novices. We were given nice calm horses, and one member of staff each. The staff members ensured that we had helmets, that we were comfortable and confident before teaching us new things. We both thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and felt that we had learned things from our trainers. We hope to sign up for several more lessons going forwards 

Lia was great with Arthur, gave him pointers and showed him how to control the horse. He loved his experience and wants to come back again. I would recommend  it for children wanting to start horseriding 

Buddy had an amazing time horse riding. As it was his first time I was a little unsure if he would want to do it. But he loved every second of it.

Evie had her 1st lesson today on Bullseye and absolutely loved it can’t wait for next week, friendly staff and very encouraging.

I have booked my son in twice now for equine support and each time the girls have been really kind and patient with him, we’re continuing with our lessons as my little boy loves it so much thanks to all the team for being so accommodating

My daughters get so excited about their horse riding lessons here. They’ve also learnt so much and the trainer is so patient and kind.

My four year old son who struggles sometimes with big feelings and paying attention attended an equine support session and it was one of the few times he was really engaged. It was wonderful to see him so focused; sensitive and loving. The staff were fantastic and really do cater for different personality types. Would strongly recommend these sessions. 

We had a joint mum and daughter ride today with Lia, Milo and Stella. It was great fun, Daughter had her first canter and mum was back in the saddle after 25+ years. Lia is a great instructor, really encouraging and full of praise. Thank you x

We had a great time! I booked for my daughter to have her first riding experience along side her father and they both throughly enjoyed it. The horses were so gentle, and the handler was bubbly, lovely and great with my daughter. The experience was relaxed but professional. A really good afternoon!

I am returning to riding after 30 years and wanted some lessons to refresh my skills. Wow! I learnt more in my first lesson with Lia than I have ever learnt riding before. Lia was understanding that I would be a bit rusty and was very encouraging and boosted my confidence. I thoroughly enjoyed the lesson and Lia’s way of teaching. I left on a high having learnt so much. I feel like I am actually learning to ride now instead of just being a passenger. I can’t wait for my next lesson with Lia.

I came here for equine therapy for my 7 year old son who has additional needs. Everyone I came across worked brilliantly with him and he wee enthusiastic and happy through the session. He groomed tacked up and rode as well as having a look at their chickens! Friendly staff and interact very well with neurodiverse and those with disabilities. 

Really good. Instructor was great and made us feel very at ease. We really enjoyed the session. Would definitely recommend. Very friendly and welcoming. 

Our 5 year old loved her pony ride and is desperate to come back again. Naomi was lovely and put her at ease straight away.  Peaceful calm environment. 

We have been coming for riding lessons for the past year and I can't praise the team enough. Everyone is friendly and knowledgeable. My daughter has made fantastic progress since she started, she has grown in confidence and it is nice to see how the riding instructors help her through every step and guide her to become even more confident. Can't recommend the Old Town Riding School enough! 

Highly recommend Mum, we had the unicorn experience the children had a great time ! the teachers made the experience even better such lovely ladies . Will definitely be returning :)

Molly had a lesson today. She is visiting from Ireland and it was a treat. She loved it!  Her instructor was amazing, very patient and gave good clear instructions. And now wants to find a school over in Ireland (or move here).

I booked my daughters to do the 20 min session. They enjoyed it, I did ask for them to do a little trot on the form but they didn’t considering it costs more than double the amount a 10 min ride costs. Besides that they thoroughly enjoyed it, the instructor was friendly and attentive, will definitely be back soon.

It was an absolutely fabulous experience. Hazel, my instructor made me feel very comfortable at the lesson and guided me through it all. I thoroughly enjoyed it and learnt a lot. Will be booking in more sessions. 
10/10 recommend.
