TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR SCRUFFY TO FLUFFY
All clients are required to complete and sign our terms and conditions and then promptly return them to us before we undertake your dog's first grooming session. 
We understand Data protection is very important therefore all your data is strictly confidential and under no circumstances will it be shared with any third party. 
If your dog has any new health conditions or anything has changed before their grooming session we would appreciate it if you could please inform us of these changes so that we can best care for your dog to the highest possible standards and ensure a safe and comfortable environment for them.
OUR BUSINESS INFORMATION: We are Scruffy To Fluffy and our business address is 188 High Street, Earl Shilton, Leicester LE9 7LQ We are reachable by phoning us on 07543 182880 or by sending an email to 2023.scruffytofluffy@gmail.com which we aim to reply to within 24 hours of receiving it. If there is a need for us to contact you we will do so by phone or by emailing the email address provided to us by yourself.
BEFORE YOUR DOGS GROOM: Before dropping your dog off with us, please make sure they have been to the toilet before their grooming session begins so they are comfortable during their time with us. We make sure your dog has access to fresh water whilst they are with us. We also advise that you don’t feed your dog 30 minutes before their scheduled grooming appointment. 
Unfortunately, we do not express anal glands, we feel this is a job for your vet so please make an appointment with them if your dog needs this done.

GENERAL INFORMATION
LATE ARRIVAL: We kindly ask that all clients arrive on time for their scheduled appointments to help our day run smoothly and ensure fairness to all clients. We understand that delays can happen; however, if you arrive more than 15 minutes late, we may need to reschedule your appointment for another date.
As we operate strictly by appointment only, each time slot is reserved exclusively for your dog and cannot be filled if missed. Late arrivals may be treated as missed or cancelled appointments, which results in a loss of earnings.
Please note that all deposits are non-refundable in the event of a missed or late appointment. To help avoid this, we offer an appointment reminder service.
LATE COLLECTION: As we are a grooming salon and not a boarding facility, we are unable to accommodate dogs remaining with us beyond their scheduled pick-up time. A late collection fee of £5.00 per 15 minutes will be applied for any delay beyond the agreed collection time.
This fee will be added to your grooming cost and is payable at the time of service. We appreciate your understanding, as this ensures Scruffy To Fluffy is compensated for additional time and helps us manage our schedule efficiently.
DEPOSITS & CANCELLATIONS: A non-refundable deposit of £10 is required at the time of booking to secure your dog’s grooming session. This deposit will be deducted from your final grooming fee if the appointment goes ahead as scheduled.
In the event of a cancellation:
	•	If you provide at least 24 hours’ notice, we are happy to carry your deposit over to your next appointment.
	•	If less than 24 hours’ notice is given, or if the appointment is missed, 50% of the groom cost will be retained to cover the cost of the lost appointment slot.

If the grooming session has started but we are unable to proceed and finish the full grooming session due to your dog's uncooperative or aggressive behaviour, we will have to end the grooming session immediately for the welfare and safety of our staff and your dog. 
We ask that you honestly answer our questions about your dog's temperament and any worries you may have about them being groomed so that we can prepare ourselves for their grooming session and assess whether we think they are suitable to be groomed in our salon safely. 
We reserve the right to cancel the grooming session if we feel under threat and that we have not been properly informed of your dog's behaviour. A reasonable charge will be charged for the time spent trying to groom your dog and the allocated slot appointed to you.
CHARGES: Our prices are based on the size, breed of your dog, coat condition and temperament of your dog. Please understand that quotes charged for a standard cut of the breed of dog you request to be groomed may vary if the dog is matted, or needs a special trim which will include shave downs. Please inform us of the exact cut you require at the time of booking so we can provide you with an accurate price. The price of the groom will be the price stated at the time of booking if the exact grooming style is agreed upon. 
Please note that our standard grooming charge is for dogs that are used to being professionally groomed and their coats are well maintained by brushing and washing in between grooming sessions. If when your dog is dropped off and we do our consultation, we feel your dog's coat may need extra services to get it to the expected standard we will discuss this with you before we start the grooming service. If we need to contact you we will do so.
Please be aware that extra charges may occur if your dog's coats are Matted, knotted, maintained to a poor standard, or excessively overgrown.
This is because it will take extra time to get their cut to the standard we aim to reach.
If we are unable to complete a groom due to behavioral problems or aggression you will be charged the price of the groom. All costs are payable in full at the time you collect your pet.
Scruffy To Fluffy have the right to refuse to groom a dog at their discretion without a given reason.

If we are presented with a neglected coat and believe, in our professional opinion, it is kinder to remove the coat than it is to de-mat this will be done in accordance with The Animal Welfare Act 2006. Whilst we will make every effort to identify this as part of the pre-groom consultation and coat assessment there may be occasions where the degree of matting cannot be fully identified until we commence the groom.
In this event we will make every effort to contact you however if this is not possible we will, in our professional opinion, do what we believe is in the best interest of the welfare of the dog. By agreeing to these Terms and Conditions you are expressly agreeing to the following De-Matting disclaimer:
De-Matting Disclaimer 
Under the Animal Welfare Act 2006, it is an offence to cause unnecessary suffering to an animal: – this includes prolonged ‘de-matting’ which is painful and detrimental to the welfare of the dog. If you bring in your dog with more than 15 minutes of de-matting work, we are required by the Act to clip your dog short humanely or refer you to your vet to do the same. We will only attempt to de-matt 5% of a dog – which equates to about 50p sized mat behind each ear, same size in the armpits and perhaps one or two in the groin or tail area. We have assessed your dog’s coat and found it to be matted, therefore it needs to be clipped short. This can be prevented by daily brushing with a slicker brush and comb. Will be happy to explain the correct way to brush your dog and suggest a grooming programme that will allow us to achieve the look you would like for your dog, this may involve more frequent visits to our salon and will certainly involve daily grooming at home.
The process of de-matting increases the risk of injury including but not limited to cuts and grazes, skin irritations caused by the shortness of the clipper blades that will be used as well as possible haematomas. In addition, you may see some behavioural changes such as head shaking, excessive scratching, licking and “scooting”. This is where the dog will scrape their back end on the floor to relive itching and irritations. Should you have any concerns you should seek advise from your usual vet.
Additional charges may be incurred due to the wear on equipment, additional products used, as well as time and skill needed to remove matting.

Lovely meeting Ria at “Scruffy to Fluffy” yesterday. It was Baylee first visit to a groomers, so l was very apprehensive how he would behave. Ria texted me half way through his treatment to re assure me , he was behaving well and was not stressed. This meant a lot to me. Also she listened when l asked for a light trim and no shaving. Apart from his ears which were very  knitted, she did the best she could with them. Would highly recommend for the personal touch. 

Poppy loves to see Ria and she is always perfectly groomed. Poppy looks so much younger after a groom, smells nice and she loves the treats.

This is the second time I’ve used Ria at Scruffy to fluffy and honestly she’s amazing! I couldn’t ask for anyone better. Pumpkin always looks and smells his best when he gets back home. Reasonable price and caring Groomer! 

My partners dog is a rescue ,  only had him a few weeks ( not the best background) so not sure how he would be with first groom. I totally trust Ria regardless , he came out looking like a svelte gentleman . She is an excellent groomer but better still , has a calmness with dogs they love her 





 So this is only our second visit but I can honestly say  we are so impressed!’ Our girls look and smell lovely, highly recommend !!

Ria is lovely, professional and is great at what she does. My baby always leaves really happy as well as looking and smelling great!  Ria is very accomodating when it comes to booking and moving appointments which is very helpful due to having to work awkward shift patterns.

Ria has been grooming George since we moved to the area. We have been super happy with every groom he has had. He’s quite nervous but Ria makes him feel welcome and at ease. Ria is absolutely wonderful. She does a great job with our dog Hettie (German Spitz) who always comes home looking and smelling fresh.
