Always appreciate Mavia’s guidance and tips on handling our big puppy. She is always very patient and clear on instructions on what to do in every situation.  

Mavia and her staff are extremely supportive and friendly. I boarded my puppy with her in July for a month. For that month of boarding, Mavia did a lot of training with my puppy.  We just did a meet and greet with our two other dogs because we plan on boarding all three of our dogs over the holiday time.  They did great and I would recommend Ruff Timez Academy to anyone for boarding or training or both.

I cannot recommend Ruff Timez Dog Training enough – they are absolutely pawsome! We recently entrusted our two adorable puppies, Rice and Beans, to their overnight boarding for a full 6 nights while we were away on a family trip. From the moment we dropped them off, the team made us feel completely at ease with their warm, professional vibe and genuine love for dogs.
What really blew us away was the daily updates – every single day, we received the cutest pictures and videos.

We have used Ruff Timez for both training and pet sitting while on vacation. I have learned so much from Mavia. She is a wealth of knowledge re: training and dog behavior. On our recent a recent trip, they quickly noted signs of a possible uti. Unable to reach us, they contacted our adult daughter and took our dog to our local vet for treatment. I have peace of mind and know our dogs are happy and very well cared for. I am truly grateful I found Mavia and Chantel. 

Mavia is wonderful, we are so excited to begin our puppy training with her. She is so informative and knowledgeable. She included our whole family in training him and took fhe time to ensure we each understood. We love her training style and am excited for our next session. So is our puppy, he loved her!

you guys take such good care of my 2 doggies...  One 2 year  mini Aussie  and one old Jack Russel.. Mavia and Chantelle are both amazing with our fur babies. One of our dogs is extremely anxious and can get aggressive with people but the two of them are wonderful with all 3 of our dogs and manage them well.  They are the only 2 that I trust to take care of our pets whenever we leave town. 

The trainer was very knowledgeable and accomplished that I had hoped to accomplish in a week she was able to do in a day

We’ve had just two training sessions with Ruff Times Dog Training, and I’m already blown away by the progress! Mavia is not only incredibly knowledgeable but also warm, endearing, and truly gifted as a trainer. We recently adopted a 1-year-old Shepherd/Husky mix who likely spent most of her life in a kennel. She came to us shy but clearly very smart, and I knew working with her would be a challenge. Thanks to Mavia's guidance, our pup already responds to several commands. Highly recommend!

The best place away from home!!  Don’t tell my mom, because sometimes I have more fun here! Playtime with doggie friends and humans who give cuddle time and ensure all my needs are met.  I pose for daily pics sent to mom and come home happy and healthy!!

We've been working with Mavia at Ruff Timez since our puppy came home at 12 weeks for both training and dog sitting. We feel like we hit the jackpot. Mavia is skilled, kind and direct. Our dog Jade LOVES her and gets excited for every lesson and sleep over. As first time pet owners, we've learned so much from Mavia. When we encounter an unexpected "problem" behavior,  Mavia knows what's up right away and has clear, specific strategies to help get us back on track. Highly recommended. 

That was the most informative meeting I have had with someone. Mavia was on time she made sure we all had a thorough understanding of our dogs and their behaviors and communication. She gave us excellent home work. She is accessible responsive and very detailed  with your pets. I would recommend her to all people looking for dog training !

Is an amazing trainer. She is knowledgeable and trains us to train our fur baby. I can’t recommend her enough. Worth every penny. 

Mavia is the best! I learned that my rescue dog becomes fear aggressive around grooming implements and receiving medications. And she is a very picky eater. Mavia is a positive trainer! She walked me thru several exercises to do with my dog, coached me on how and when to do the exercises to desensitize my dog over time to its feared implements (yes, there is hope!), and helped me with dog food solutions. Mavia has astounding, uncommon dog wisdom. 

It was so wonderful, informative and really taught us a lot on how a dog perceives our actions and appropriate commands to use.

Had the trainers stop by to allow my 2 dogs out to play while I was on a short trip... As always, they showed up on time.   They care for your dogs like they are their own.  The dogs love their time with them....And O was able to enjoy my 1/2 trip and my 2 puppies had some fun also... They are very professional and we will use them again soon..

We have seen many trainers before and most of them just put a prong on our dog and correct him. Mavia, on the other hand, had a reward system and force-free approach with our dog. She told us our dog is fearful reactive and gave us really good tips, advice, and homework on how to work with him. We learned so many things in just our consultation and she respected our dog’s boundaries the whole time. We loved her methods and we are looking forward to our training sessions!

 I have used Ruff Timez for boarding, daycare, training, and grooming.  My dog loves to go to Ruff Timez and is sad when I come to bring him home!  Mavia uses positive reinforcement training which I think is the best approach to training dogs.  I look forward to group training resuming in Fair Oaks.

Mavia with Ruff Timez is amazing…. She spent as much time training and educating my humans as she did working with me  (Dexter) to help them better understand why I do what I do.  I also love to come visit when my humans go out of town for the weekend - they always say I come back a better dog.

10/10. Mavia is amazing with my dog, Chaka. She is kind, but also firm. We have done several training sessions and we have also done pet sitting. The experience with the pet sitting made Chaka’s interactions with my other dogs much more pleasant. We plan to continue working with Mavia and her team.

We are so happy that Mavia is our trainer. We've had a few sessions with Mavia now and have learned a lot. I have 3 Shiba Inus. They are a difficult and stubborn breed to train and are very apprehensive of new people, but they just love Mavia and listen so well to her. Mavia is very easy to get ahold of, her prices are affordable (& totally worth it!), and she offers so many tips and tricks that we can use daily to manage the Shibas' behavioral issues. Mavia is absolutely amazing. She is extremely knowledgeable about dog behavior. I had many questions and she had a clear direct answer for every single one of them! It's obvious she genuinely wants to see you and your dog understand each other. She goes over the steps but also the WHY so you can better understand how the method will work when it comes to the dogs emotional state and adjust. From resource guarding to teeth brushing she had a strategy for everything. I can't recommend her enough!
