Peaches Pooches Terms and Conditions Fleas/Ticks: Peaches Pooches strives to be a flea/tick-free environment. If your dog has a flea or tick infestation we will ask that you reschedule your grooming appointment once the flea or tick problem is under control. Dogs with a flea or tick infestation carry a risk of anaemia, infections, tapeworms and other health problems. We recommend that you contact your veterinarian for advice on the best treatment for your situation. A topical monthly flea preventative may be the most effective choice. Treating all pets in the family, as well as treating your home will help in keeping fleas and ticks under control for the long term. If fleas are found on your dog we will bathe your dog in a flea shampoo and we will have to require additional disinfecting of our premises, this will incur a £10 charge on your grooming bill. Health or Medical Problems & Elderly Dogs: Grooming procedures can sometimes be stressful, especially for a senior dog or dog with health problems, and can expose hidden medical problems or aggravate a current one during or after the groom. In the best interest of your pet this contract/agreement will give Peaches Pooches permission to obtain immediate Veterinary treatment for your pet should it be deemed necessary by us. We will do our best to contact you first, then take your pet to our authorised Veterinarian, or to the nearest Veterinarian that is available. It is agreed that all expenses for Veterinary care will be covered by the pet's owner. Accidents: There is always the possibility an accident could occur. Grooming equipment is sharp, even though we use extreme caution and care in all situations. Possible problems that could occur include cuts, nicks, scratches and quickening of the nails. In most cases this can happen when a dog is wiggling or moving around. We make every effort to ensure your dog is groomed as safely as possible, but if your dog does not accept the process it can be dangerous to continue the groom. Our Code of Practice and Animal Welfare Needs: We abide by sector specific charters to demonstrate good practice. Our aim is to educate the public about responsible pet ownership through guidance and advice. Condition of coat: Matted Coats: Peaches Pooches promotes Responsible Dog Ownership we do not de-matt neglected coats. This is very different to removing small knots, tangles and isolated matted hair from the coat which can be achieved quickly without causing anxiety, stress or pain. The health and condition of a dog's coat and skin are the responsibility of the owner (along with its physical and psychological state of health). Professional grooming plays an important role in the commitment undertaken when choosing any breed of dog. This level of commitment is evident in the condition of the coat due to effective home grooming and temperament due to socialisation and training. Peaches Pooches is all about the welfare of your dog, so it a shave off is required due to your dog being matted, then this is what will happen, as long as the owner agrees. This will cause an additional charge of up to £15, depending on the dog's condition. Hand Stripping: Peaches Pooches offers the service of hand stripping. It's important that the owner must be aware that there are high risks of infection when hand stripping as it opens the hair follicles which leads them exposed for up to 7 days. During this time, infection is high and the skin will be sensitive. Infection doesn't occur very often but it's important to be aware of the risks. Peaches Pooches ensures that all the correct regulations are taken place to prevent any infection, but it doesn't mean it can't still happen. I do bathe all dogs after the hand strip with aloe Vera sensitive shampoo and tepid water, if you don't feel comfortable with the dog being bathed afterwards, this is not problem, just make us aware. If I feel the dog isn't coping with the hand stripping process, I will discuss with the owner what the best options are for the dog. If the dogs coat isn't ready to be stripped, then I contact the owner to pick up the dog and make an appointment further down the line. Behaviour: Aggressive or Dangerous Dogs: Owners MUST inform us if your dog bites, has bitten or is aggressive to people, other pets or specific grooming procedures. We reserve the right to refuse or stop services of your dog at any time before or during the grooming process and charge an Aggressive Dog Fee of £10 in addition to the regular grooming charge. If your dog should bite, the owner agrees to be responsible for any and all related medical bills, recovery costs, loss of income and equipment damage. Difficult dogs: Some dogs find the process of being groomed very stressful and require two people to complete the groom. As a individual groomer, its possible that I may not be able to complete the groom if the dog misbehaves or prevents me from grooming them. I can only groom the dog as well as the dog will allow me too. If a feel the dog is too much for me, I will be able to recommend other groomers that have more help on standby. Pricing: All Prices Assume a Reasonable Condition and Temperament: Additional charges will apply for the extra time and products involved in grooming neglected coats, in-particular those which require clipping off due to severe matting and for dogs whose temperament or health also requires more time to complete. Additional costs may be incurred if the dog requires longer due to condition of coat, behaviour issues and so forth. Unless the groom is incomplete due to a range of complications, a refund will not be allocated. Cancellation/ no show policy: We require 48 hours notice for cancellations or reschedules. If there is less than 48 hours notice, you will be expected to pay FULL price of the groom. If you do not show up for your appointment, cancel on the day of your appointment or are more then 15 minutes late, you will be expected to pay the full price of the groom. Drop off/ Collection: Please arrive a couple minutes before you allocated appointment time. Due to running a tight schedule and minimising the amount of dogs in the salon at any one time, please arrive on time for collection of your dog. If you collect your dog 20 minutes or more after the collection time, a £10 fee will occur.
