Murphys' Magnificent Mutts 

Please ensure you have read our policy and terms before booking in your dog.

Matted Dog Policy:
If your dog arrives with a matted coat, it may need to be shaved in all areas that are matted. Brushing this out is not only extremely painful for your dog. It is also illegal under the animal Welfare Act of 2006. I will not inflict such pain on your dog, when a shave down will make them much more comfortable. Please remember that a groomer never wants to shave your animal (unless requested a style you prefer). Your dogs haircut is our best advertisement. If a shave down is required, it is in the best interest of your pet. Should your dog require a shave down, this will incur a matted dog fee of £10 on top of the cost of the groom. A matted coat puts more strain on my equipment. 

Behavioural Policy:
Please make me aware when making an appointment & prior to grooming, if your dog has been known to be aggressive towards previous groomers or struggles with any point of the grooming process. (nails, dryers, heads, legs etc) I reserve the right to refuse to groom any dog. I also reserve the right to terminate the groom at any point if o feel that your dog is putting itself or me at risk.Should I need to abort your dogs groom, you will be required to cover the costs of all services carried out up to that point. Please note that if your dog is difficult to work with, you may be charged a behaviour fee up to £10 on top of the cost of the groom, dependant on the severity of the dogs behaviour.

Collection Policy:

When dropping your dog off for its appointment, I will give an estimated time your dog will be ready to collect. I will also send a text to let you know when your dog will be ready to collect (15-30mins prior). Please do not arrive before your dog is ready, as this can make them very unsettled for the remainder of the groom, and this may result in the groom not being up to the standard I would like. You will not be allowed to stay with your dog in the salon while it's being groomed. My insurance does not cover untrained personnel in the salon. This is for your own safety. If the dog is only in for nail clipping, the owner may wait in their car until the service has been completed.

Cancellation / No Show Policy:

Please give 24 Hours if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment. This must be done within my normal working hours. Failure to do so may result in a charge of the full price of the grooming service. This must be paid prior to any future appointments being made. If you do not show up for your appointment you will be required to a pay a no-show fee. This will equate to 100% of the value of the grooming services that would have been carried out. No-shows do not allow me any time to get another dog booked into your slot. Please let me know if you cannot make it. I can only wait up to 15mins after your appointment was scheduled to begin. Arriving late leaves me behind and is unfair on the remainder off my customers that day. If you cannot make your appointment in time, we may need to reschedule and a no-show fee may need to be paid prior to rescheduling your appointment.





Belle and Theo have been going to Gemma for their monthly grooms since Gemma opened. They absolutely love going to her and come out beautifully groomed with a new stylish bandana every time. Gemma is fantastic at what she does and is reasonably priced making it affordable for my two dogs to get full grooms every 4 weeks but most importantly her love for the dogs is plain to be seen. I know when I leave them with her they are spoilt and very well looked after whilst being pampered xx

Gemma is absolutely amazing!!! I have went to many dog groomers previously, who traumatised, scared and shaved my dog Daisy to the skin, until she met Gemma!
