Policy and Terms

Hey! I’m Ginger, I am a Licensed Cosmetologist who specializes in Natural Haircare, Protective Styles, Crochet Retwists, Starter Locs & Loc Restorations. To ensure a smooth and positive experience, i’ve outlined my policies in the following points: SCHEDULING & CANCELLATIONS * Booking: All appointments must be scheduled via the Goldie booking site. Only existing clients can Text/DM for squeeze-ins. All new clients must schedule a Virtual Consultation to Book an Appointment. If you’re a returning client but it’s been a while, please book a consultation to make sure you’re booking the correct service. * Cancellations & Rescheduling: Please notify me at least 48 hours in advance to cancel or reschedule your appointment. Cancellations made within 24 hours will result in a 50% service charge. You will not be allowed to book again until that is paid. * No-Show Policy: Clients who do not show up for their scheduled appointment will not be allowed to book with me ever again. SERVICE AREA & TRAVEL FEES * Service Area: I am a home-based stylist but I also travel. I am based in the Bronx (10468) and I do NOT allow extra guests. I currently only offer mobile services in Manhattan, the Bronx, Yonkers and Brooklyn. * Travel Fees: A travel fee depends on the distance from my base location to yours. The fee is visible to add-on when booking. A deposit of $50 is required for mobile appointments and a valid, unaltered photo ID is required. CLIENT PREPARATION * Hair Condition: The wash and style is ALWAYS included with each service. If you have long or thick hair, there is an additional fee to make sure I’m compensated properly. * Environment: As a home-based stylist I will always make sure my space is clean and I have a wash station available. I have an older cat who always comes to say hi in between his naps so if you’re allergic a mobile appointment is your best option. For mobile services, I require a well-lit, and comfortable space to perform the service. Please make sure your location is ready prior to my arrival to stay on schedule. PAYMENTS * Accepted Payments: I ONLY accept card for the mobile appointments deposit. Unless I tell you otherwise, always be prepared to pay in CASH. * Refunds: All services are final once completed. In the rare case that you are dissatisfied, please address concerns within 24 hours, and I will do my best to resolve the issue. HEALTH & SAFETY * All tools and equipment used will be sanitized before each appointment to ensure the highest hygiene standards. * If you or anyone in your household is feeling unwell or has been exposed to illness, please reschedule your appointment at least 48 hours in advance. BEHAVIOR & EXPECTATIONS * I ask that clients treat me with respect and professionalism. I reserve the right to terminate services if the environment becomes unsafe, uncomfortable, or disrespectful. * I am committed to providing high-quality Natural Haircare maintenance, and I appreciate open communication regarding your needs and expectations. LIABILITY * La Naturalista Colora is not responsible for any allergic reactions or damages resulting from products used during the service. * By booking an appointment, you acknowledge that you’ve provided accurate information about your hair and scalp health. PRIVACY POLICY * Your personal information will never be shared with third parties. All records of services and client preferences are kept confidential to ensure your privacy. By booking with La Naturalista Colora, you agree to abide by these policies. I look forward to providing you with the best experience and assisting you in your Natural Haircare journey!

Virtual Consultation Though Text

When you’re ready to book, please select the next available time slot and I’ll reach out to you personally asap to book your appointment. Please be ready to send a 360° video of your hair and the service you’d like to book. Also, let me know what time & date is best for you. 💫 FAQ #1 : “What is a virtual consultation?” Answer : “A virtual consultation is a remote appointment with a professional, that takes place over a digital platform like text, video conferencing or a phone call.” 💫 FAQ #2 : “My previous stylist never did a consultation, why can’t you just do my hair?” Answer : “A stylist needs a consultation to understand your hair's history (color, damage, treatments), assess its health, gauge your lifestyle, and clarify your goals. While preventing misunderstandings, protecting your hair's integrity (especially with color), and ensuring they book enough time for the right service, rather than guessing or rushing.”

🫧 Wash

** VIRTUAL CONSULTATION REQUIRED ** Wash & Style Always Included 💫 FAQ : “What is a Wash and is it extra?” Answer : A loc wash is a professional scalp and dreadlock cleansing service, crucial for removing buildup, and yes, it usually costs extra or is bundled into the total price for retwisting, with prices varying significantly by loctician, loc density/length, and location, often ranging from $30 for a wash alone to over $100 when combined with retwisting and styling. Many stylists include it in retwist pricing (around $80-$120+), while others charge separately ($30-$65+), as locs require specific clarifying shampoos and thorough cleaning.”

💇 Loc Trim

** VIRTUAL CONSULTATION REQUIRED ** 💫 FAQ #1 : “What is a Loc Trim?” Answer : “A "loc trim" refers to trimming dreadlocks (locs) to maintain their health, shape, and length, removing split, damaged, or overgrown ends to promote fuller, neater growth, reduce weight/tension, and achieve styles like bobs;” 💫 FAQ #2 : “How do I know when I need a Loc Trim?” Answer : “You need a loc trim when you see thinning/weak spots, significant breakage, excessive weight causing scalp pain, or buildup that won't detox, signaling damaged ends that need removing for health, shape, or to prevent further unraveling. Focus on the ends for maintenance, but trim further up if damage is severe, as it promotes healthier, stronger growth.”

🍋 Loc Detox

** VIRTUAL CONSULTATION REQUIRED ** 💫 FAQ #1 : “What is a Loc Detox?” Answer : “A loc detox is a deep-cleaning treatment for dreadlocks that removes product buildup, dirt, and oils to rejuvenate the hair and promote scalp health.” 💫 FAQ #2 : “How do I know if I need a Loc Detox?” Answer : “You need a loc detox if your locs feel heavy, dull, or crunchy; your scalp is itchy/flaky despite washing; you see visible lint/dirt/product film; moisture struggles to penetrate; or you're transitioning from heavy products or live in a dusty environment.”

🎨 Loc Dye

** VIRTUAL CONSULTATION REQUIRED ** 💫 FAQ #1 : “What is a Loc Dye?” Answer : “A loc dye service in the USA is a professional hair coloring treatment specifically for locs or sisterlocks, done by a loctician to add vibrant color, dimension, or subtle enhancements while focusing on maintaining the locs' health, often involving consultation, specialized loc-friendly products, and techniques like single/double process coloring, balayage, or natural dyes like henna, with prices varying by complexity, loc length, and product.” 💫 FAQ #2 : “How much does it cost to dye your Locs?” Answer : “Dyeing locs in the USA generally costs from $75 to $200+ for a full color, but prices vary widely based on loc length, color complexity (highlights vs. all-over), stylist experience, and location, with some stylists starting at $125 for full color and root touch-ups from $50.”

🚕 Travel Fee

** VIRTUAL CONSULTATION REQUIRED ** I am a home-based stylist who also provides mobile appointments . I only travel to the Bronx, Manhattan, Queens, Brooklyn, and Yonkers. $35 deposit is required, and the remaining balance is due in person. 💫 FAQ #1 : “What is a Travel Fee for Locticians?” Answer : “A loctician's travel fee in the USA varies widely but generally covers time, gas, and wear-and-tear, often calculated as a flat rate ($25-$75+) or mileage fee ($0.67/mile), plus potentially hourly rates for long distances, with factors like distance, traffic, and service type influencing the final price.” 💫 FAQ #2 : “Why do I have to pay a travel fee if I’m already paying you to do my hair?” Answer : You pay a travel fee because the stylist's service isn't just the hair; it covers their time, transportation costs (gas, tolls, wear-and-tear), packing/unpacking heavy equipment, and the lost opportunity to book another client while they're away.”

Traditional Palm Roll Retwist

** VIRTUAL CONSULTATION REQUIRED ** Wash & Style Always Included 💫 FAQ : “What is a Palm Roll Retwist?” Answer : “A palm roll retwist is the most popular method for maintaining dreadlocks, where you use your palms to roll new hair growth at the root, smoothing it into a tight, neat cylinder, often with a bit of product, creating a clean look with gentle tension, unlike tighter methods like interlocking.” ** ID REQUIRED FOR STUDIO ADDRESS, $35 DEPOSIT FOR MOBILE APPOINTMENTS **

Detailed Crochet Retwist

** VIRTUAL CONSULTATION REQUIRED ** Wash & Style Always Included 💫 FAQ : “ What is a Crochet Retwist and how is it different from a Palm Roll Retwist?” Answer : “A crochet retwist uses a tiny hook to pull loose hairs into the dreadlock for instant neatness and longevity, ideal for straight hair or active lifestyles, while palm rolling uses hands to roll new growth, a gentler, natural method that needs more frequent upkeep but builds a stronger foundation over time;” ** ID REQUIRED FOR STUDIO ADDRESS, $35 DEPOSIT FOR MOBILE APPOINTMENTS **

Loc Restoration

** VIRTUAL CONSULTATION REQUIRED ** Wash & Style Always Included 💫 FAQ #1 : “What is a Loc Restoration?” Answer : “Loc restoration is a professional service to repair damaged, thinning, matted, or buildup-heavy dreadlocks by detangling, deep cleaning, moisturizing, and re-forming them (often with crochet/braiding techniques) for a healthier, neater look;” 💫 FAQ #2 : “How do I know I need a Loc Restoration?” Answer : “You need it if your locs are thinning, breaking, feel heavy/dull with white/grey crust (buildup), smell musty, or are a tangled mess, indicating neglected maintenance or product issues.” ** ID REQUIRED FOR STUDIO ADDRESS, $50 DEPOSIT FOR MOBILE APPOINTMENTS **

6 h | $185

Loc Restoration + Re-Attachments

** VIRTUAL CONSULTATION REQUIRED ** Wash & Style Always Included 💫 FAQ #1 : “What is a Loc Restoration WITH Reattachments?” Answer : “ A loc restoration with attachments is a professional service to repair, thicken, or extend dreadlocks by reattaching existing locs or adding hair (extensions/interlocking) to thin/damaged areas or where locs haven't formed, preserving length and fullness.” 💫 FAQ #2 : “How do I know if I need a Loc Restoration WITH Reattachments?” Answer : “ you need it if your locs have significant thinning, breakage, detachment, or if you're transitioning from matted hair to mature locs, requiring a loctician to use tools like crochet needles to seamlessly blend and secure your hair for a uniform look.” ** ID REQUIRED FOR STUDIO ADDRESS, $35 DEPOSIT FOR MOBILE APPOINTMENTS **

Starter Locs : 2 Strand Method

** VIRTUAL CONSULTATION REQUIRED ** Wash & Style Always Included 💫 FAQ #1 : “What are Starter Locs : 2 Strand Method?” Answer : “Starter locs using the two-strand twist method involve sectioning damp hair and twisting two strands around each other from root to tip, creating a temporary style that matures into thicker, patterned locs over time.” 💫 FAQ #2 : “Who should not get Starter Locs using the 2 Strand Method?” Answer : “People with straight hair (which resists locking), severely heat-damaged hair, or permed hair that lacks natural curl/coil should be cautious with two-strand starter locs, as these hair types don't hold twists well, leading to limp, unraveling, or slow-locking results;” ** ID REQUIRED FOR STUDIO ADDRESS, $35 DEPOSIT FOR MOBILE APPOINTMENTS **

4 h 30 min | $250

Starter Locs : Coil Method

** VIRTUAL CONSULTATION REQUIRED ** Wash & Style Always Included 💫 FAQ #1 : “What are Starter Locs : Coil Method?” Answer : “Starter locs using the Coil Method (or Comb Coil) is a popular way to begin dreadlocks by using a fine-tooth comb to twist small sections of hair into tight, defined coils, creating a clean, uniform, cylindrical shape from the start, ideal for short hair and textured hair types, which naturally buds and matures into locs over time.” 💫 FAQ #2 : “Who should not get Starter Locs with the Coil Method?” Answer : People with very loose hair textures (Type 3A/3B), chemically treated hair, or those who want instant neatness/less frizz should be cautious with coil starter locs; they are prone to unraveling, require patience for shrinkage and locking, and can look messy initially, especially with less coily hair, making two-strand twists or interlocking better alternatives for stability.” ** ID REQUIRED FOR STUDIO ADDRESS, $35 DEPOSIT FOR MOBILE APPOINTMENTS **
