Hi, I’m Jewell Danai, owner and lead artist of TabooTattys Tattoo Studio. Tattooing isn’t just what I do—it’s who I am. From the moment I picked up a pencil, I knew creating art was my calling, and over the years, that calling has grown into a career I live and breathe every day. My goal has always been the same: to create artwork that my clients carry with them forever, pieces that are deeply personal, meaningful, and unapologetically bold.

I specialize in a wide range of styles—from fine line and realism to horror portraits, anime, neotraditional, and full-color work. Every tattoo I create is an opportunity to take your vision and turn it into something unique, something that feels like it was made just for you. Whether it’s a vibrant color design, a hauntingly beautiful portrait, or a delicate, intricate piece, I approach each tattoo with precision, creativity, and a deep respect for the art form.

Over the years, I’ve been lucky to have my work recognized in ways that mean a lot, from being voted #1 SWLA Best Tattoo Artist to having TabooTattys Tattoo Studio named #1 SWLA Best Tattoo Shop, as well as earning multiple awards for portrait, black and grey, and anime tattoos. BOOKING FEE & CANCELLATION POLICY ✍️🖤

By scheduling an appointment with Jewell Danai @ TabooTattys Tattoo Studio, you agree to the following terms and policies.

💰 BOOKING FEE
	•	A nonrefundable, nontransferable booking fee of 25% of the total tattoo price is required at the time of booking, payable through Goldie or Square.
	•	The booking fee secures your specific date and time only.
	•	Booking fees cannot be applied to other services or transferred, except as stated under the artist-initiated reschedule policy.

📆 CLIENT-INITIATED RESCHEDULE
	•	Rescheduling will result in forfeiture of the original booking fee.
	•	A new booking fee is required to secure a new date and will be applied to the total balance.
	•	Paying a new booking fee is mandatory to reserve the rescheduled appointment.

🚫 CANCELLATIONS & NO-SHOWS
	•	Any last-minute cancellation (less than 48 hours) or failure to show up within a 15-minute window is considered a no-show and will result in forfeiture of the booking fee.
	•	To reschedule after a last-minute cancellation or no-show, a new booking fee is required, and the remaining balance must be paid in full after the new fee is applied.

🔁 ARTIST-INITIATED RESCHEDULE
	•	If I must reschedule, the booking fee is transferable one (1) time only.
	•	If the client chooses to cancel due to an artist-initiated reschedule, the booking fee remains nonrefundable.

🎨 TATTOO & DESIGN NOTES
	•	The artist reserves the right to decline any tattoo request and may recommend another artist.
	•	Drawings are not provided in advance; any design changes can be made on the day of the appointment.

⏰ HOURS & AFTER-HOURS APPOINTMENTS
	•	Standard working hours: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
	•	Appointments after 4:00 PM are considered after-hours and subject to an additional $75/hour fee.
	•	After-hours availability is limited and offered at the artist’s discretion.
	•	After-hours fees are non-negotiable and added to the total balance.

⚠️ TERMS & CONDITIONS — REQUIRED ACCEPTANCE

By submitting payment for the booking fee, the client acknowledges and agrees that they have read, understood, and accepted all booking, pricing, scheduling, after-hours, rescheduling, and cancellation policies.
	•	Payment secures the specific date and time only and is nonrefundable and nontransferable, except where explicitly stated in writing by the artist.
	•	No verbal statements or implied agreements shall modify these terms.
	•	Payment constitutes a binding contractual agreement enforceable under Louisiana law.
	•	Failure to comply with any stated policy will result in enforcement of these terms, including forfeiture of the booking fee where applicable.

The whole experience was awesome! I felt welcomed and heard! 

Jewell did a phenomenal cover-up for me and added a floral piece to complete my half sleeve—I couldn’t be happier with how it turned out. It looks absolutely amazing!
The shop had a super chill, relaxed vibe, and everything was very clean and sanitary. Jewell was extremely attentive about hygiene, from frequent hand washing to glove changes, and always made sure to only touch my arm with gloves on. I felt completely comfortable the entire time.

Jewell gave me my first tattoo and it was an amazing experience, not to mention the tattoo is sick!

I wanted a memorial tattoo for my late soul cat. I was very indecisive but knew I wanted something more abstract and a talking piece of “hey what is your tattoo?” Jewel said say less and designed a feminine fine line memorial tattoo that I didn’t even know I needed. The whole process of booking a consult to booking the actual session was easy and she was in constant communication with reminders of upcoming appointments (which *bless* because we all get distracted). Highly recommend

I love this shop so much. My third tattoo here and I love the atmosphere. The employees are all friendly and talented and so kind. Ngl I asked about a price discrepancy and Jewell gave the lower price for me and then I immediately felt bad after I left but omg girl deserves whole price. 
Next appointment i will def give more.
