Customer Booking, Service, and Hygiene Policy

As a licensed esthetician specializing in waxing, Essentially Bare is committed to providing a safe, professional, and comfortable experience. Please review the following condensed policies for booking, services, and hygiene.

1. Booking Appointments
	•	Booking Process: Appointments can be booked online, by phone, or email. A 24-48 hour advance booking is recommended. Clients must confirm appointments 24 hours before the scheduled time.
	•	Information Requirements: Please provide accurate details about any skin conditions, medications, or allergies when booking. Certain medical conditions may require rescheduling or referral.
	•	Cancellation Policy: If you need to cancel or reschedule, please do so at least 24 hours in advance. Cancellations made less than 24 hours before your appointment will incur a 50% fee. No shows are considered cancellations.

2. Waxing Services
	•	Service Options: We offer various waxing services, including eyebrows, legs, arms, bikini, Brazilian, and full-body waxing. Services are customized based on your skin and hair type.
	•	Preparation: For best results, hair should be at least 1/4 inch long. Avoid sun exposure, shaving, or harsh skin treatments 24-48 hours before your appointment.
	•	Aftercare: After waxing, avoid hot showers, direct sun exposure, and tight clothing for 24-48 hours. We will provide aftercare instructions to prevent irritation and ingrown hairs.

3. Hygiene Policy
	•	Personal Hygiene: The esthetician will maintain high standards of personal cleanliness, including clean attire and use of gloves and masks during all treatments.
	•	Sanitization: All tools, including spatulas, tweezers, and wax applicators, are sanitized or disposed of after each use. We use hospital-grade disinfectants to clean surfaces and treatment areas between clients.
	•	Client Comfort: All waxing areas are properly draped to maintain privacy. We maintain a clean and sanitized environment, ensuring the highest hygiene standards for your safety.
	•	Products: Only high-quality, hypoallergenic waxes and aftercare products are used, and all products are stored in a clean, safe manner.
      • Clean Skin: Arrive with clean skin, free of lotions, oils, or perfumes.
       • Shower: We recommend showering before your appointment to ensure the area is fresh.
       • Freshness: For bikini or Brazilian waxing, please ensure the intimate area is clean. We can provide wipes if needed. 

4. Payment & Gratuity
	•	Accepted Payments: Payments are due at the time of service and can be made in cash or digital payment options (Venmo, PayPal).
	•	Gratuity: Gratuity is not included but is appreciated for exceptional service (typically 15-20%).

5. Customer Responsibilities
	•	Health Disclosure: Clients must disclose any allergies, medications, or skin conditions that could affect the waxing process (e.g., Accutane, Retin-A, skin irritation).
	•	Respectful Behavior: Bare Essentials maintains a professional, respectful environment. Any inappropriate behavior may result in the termination of the service.

Akeylah is truly the best of the best! She is amazing at her job— detail oriented, personable, fun and professional! Akeylah is by far the best person to go to for your waxes!!!! She makes you feel so comfortable. I originally started with just getting my underarms done because I was nervous to start doing Brazilians, but she made me feel like I had no reason to be scared!! I always look forward to my appointments with her not only because she leaves me feeling so much better about myself, but because we always have the best time!! We’re always laughing and catching up like we’re besties 🩷 love you Akeylah!!
