Swedish massage

A Swedish massage is designed to relax the entire body by rubbing the muscles in long, gliding strokes in the direction of blood returning to the heart. But the benefits of Swedish massage go beyond relaxation. It can help increase the level of oxygen in the blood and improve circulation and flexibility. Talk to your therapist about incorporating elements of Swedish massage into your next session.

Hot stone massage

Hot stone massage is a therapeutic technique that involves the use of smooth, heated stones. These stones are typically made of basalt, a type of volcanic rock that retains heat well. During a hot stone massage, the stones are heated in water and then placed on specific parts of the body, such as the back, hands, or feet. The heat from the stones helps to relax muscles, improve circulation, and reduce stress. The therapist may also use the stones as an extension of their hands to massage certain areas of the body, applying gentle pressure and heat to help release tension. Hot stone massage is known for its soothing and relaxing effects and is often used to relieve muscle pain and promote a sense of overall well-being.

Deep Tissue

Deep tissue massage is a therapeutic technique focused on realigning deeper layers of muscles and connective tissue. It is especially helpful for chronic aches and pains, as well as areas of tension like the neck, upper back, lower back, and shoulders. This type of massage uses slow, deep strokes and firm pressure to target the inner layers of muscles and surrounding tissues. The therapist may use their fingers, thumbs, elbows, or even forearms to apply the necessary pressure. Unlike more relaxing forms of massage, deep tissue massage can sometimes cause discomfort or soreness during or after the session due to the intensity of the technique
