1. Introduction This Makeup Service Agreement ("Agreement") is entered into between the makeup artist identified below ("Artist") and the client identified below ("Client") for professional event makeup services. This Agreement sets forth the terms, conditions, and policies governing the booking, payment, and cancellation of makeup services. By paying the deposit described herein, the Client acknowledges they have read, understood, and agree to be bound by all terms and conditions set forth in this Agreement. 2. Service Description The Artist agrees to provide professional event makeup services as outlined herein. Services may include, but are not limited to, complexion preparation, foundation application, eye makeup, lip color, contouring, and setting — tailored to the event type and Client preferences discussed during booking. The specific services and number of looks will be detailed in the description accompanying this Agreement. Any changes to the agreed scope must be confirmed in writing at least 7 days prior to the event. 3. Deposit Policy A non-refundable deposit of fifty percent (50%) of the total service fee is required to secure the event date and time. The deposit is due upon execution of this Agreement and must be paid at the time of booking. The 50% deposit is strictly non-refundable under all circumstances. This deposit serves as a retainer that compensates the Artist for reserving the event date, declining other bookings, and commencing preparatory work including but not limited to product selection, look planning, and scheduling. The remaining balance (50% of the total service fee) is due at the time of service. 4. Cancellation & Rescheduling Policy 4.1 Cancellation by Client The Client may cancel services by providing written notice to the Artist via the communication method specified in the booking. If cancellation occurs within four (4) days (96 hours) of the scheduled event, the Client shall be responsible for payment of the full service fee (100% of the total amount). The 50% deposit already paid will be applied toward this amount, and the remaining 50% balance will be charged to the Client. If cancellation occurs more than four (4) days but less than fourteen (14) days before the scheduled event, the 50% deposit is forfeited as the cancellation fee, and no additional charges will apply. If cancellation occurs fourteen (14) or more days before the scheduled event, the deposit remains non-refundable; however, the Artist may, at their sole discretion, offer a credit toward future services within 90 days of the original event date. 4.2 Cancellation by Artist In the unlikely event the Artist must cancel due to illness, emergency, or force majeure, the Artist shall provide the Client with as much advance notice as reasonably possible. In such cases, the Artist shall refund 100% of all payments received, including the deposit, within 7 business days. The Artist shall make reasonable efforts to recommend a qualified replacement artist, though this shall not be a binding obligation. 4.3 Rescheduling Rescheduling requests must be submitted in writing no less than seven (7) days prior to the original event date. Rescheduling is subject to the Artist's availability on the requested alternate date. If the Artist is unavailable, the cancellation policy in Section 4.1 shall apply. If the Artist is available, the deposit shall transfer to the new date. Only one rescheduling is permitted per booking. 5. Payment Terms All payments shall be processed at the time of booking and at the time of service. Accepted payment methods are those supported by the booking platform at the time of payment. Late payments are subject to a fee of $25 per day past the due date. Services will not be rendered if the final balance remains unpaid at the time of service. The price is all inclusive of the makeup service. The Client is responsible for all applicable taxes, processing fees, and gratuities unless otherwise noted. 6. Service Day Policies The Artist will arrive at the agreed location at the scheduled start time. A grace period of 15 minutes is provided for Client delays. Beyond 15 minutes, the Artist reserves the right to abbreviate services or charge an additional fee of $50 per 30 minutes of delay, subject to the Artist's subsequent schedule constraints. The Client shall ensure a well-lit, clean workspace with access to an electrical outlet and seating at appropriate height. Outdoor events require adequate shelter from wind, rain, and direct sunlight. For hygiene and safety, the Client must disclose any known allergies, skin conditions, or sensitivities at least 48 hours prior to the event. The Artist reserves the right to refuse service on skin exhibiting infection, open wounds, or contagious conditions. 7. Limitation of Liability The Artist's liability under this Agreement shall be limited to the total amount paid by the Client for services. The Client agrees to indemnify and hold harmless the Artist from claims arising from undisclosed allergies or skin conditions. 8. Photography & Marketing The Artist may request permission to photograph the completed makeup look for portfolio, social media, and marketing purposes. Such use requires explicit written consent from the Client. The Client is never obligated to grant this permission, and declining will not affect the quality of services provided. 9. Dispute Resolution Any dispute arising from this Agreement shall first be addressed through good-faith direct negotiation between the parties. If unresolved within 30 days, either party may pursue mediation. This Agreement shall be governed by the laws of the state of California without regard to conflict-of-law principles. 10. Entire Agreement This Agreement constitutes the entire understanding between the Artist and Client and supersedes all prior discussions, representations, or agreements. No modification shall be valid unless made in writing and signed by both parties. Acceptance By paying the required deposit, the Client acknowledges they have read, understood, and agree to all terms and conditions contained in this Agreement.
