Hey! I’m so glad you’re here. I’m Monique, and I’m a home-based micro-loctician and an official Sisterlocks® Trainee with a deep love for microlocs—I even installed my own. I’ve also been creating some natural braided styles for years, and my home‑based studio allows me to offer a warm, personal experience as a stay‑at‑home mom who truly cares for your hair the way I care for my own.
I specialize in microlocs and interlocking techniques, and my work is guided by my faith, integrity, and a commitment to fair, transparent pricing. My desire is for every woman to feel confident, peaceful, and deeply connected to her natural hair and loc journey.

HOME STUDIO
My studio is home‑based, and one‑on‑one. I am also a mother to two young children. Thursdays and Sundays are the typical days where I won’t have to tend to them.  While I work to keep interruptions minimal, brief pauses may occur. You are never charged for these moments — I bill only for active service time. Your comfort and experience matter deeply to me.

LATE POLICY
Late arrivals shorten your appointment time.  
If you arrive late, and there is a client after you, your service will end at the originally scheduled time so the next client is not delayed. Any work not completed will need to be booked at a later date. Please contact me if you think you will be 30 minutes past the appointment time because a reschedule may be needed.

CANCELLATION POLICY
Please cancel or reschedule at least 24 hours in advance.  Deposits will not be refunded (see refund policy for more).
Last‑minute cancellations or no‑shows may require prepayment to book future appointments, but no additional fee is charged for the missed appointment itself.

NO REFUND POLICY
All deposits and service payments are non‑refundable.  
Because my time is reserved specifically for you, deposits secure your appointment and services reflect the work, expertise, and time invested.
If something comes up, you’re welcome to choose one of the following alternatives:
- Reschedule your appointment within the allowed timeframe
- Transfer your deposit to a new date (one‑time courtesy)
- Apply your deposit toward a different service of equal or greater value
- Receive a service correction if there is a concern with your results, as long as you contact me within 24 hours

WASH POLICY
A wash is included with every retightening at no additional cost to ensure clean, prepped roots.
If you prefer to wash your own hair, the price remains the same, but please arrive with clean, dry, product‑free hair. If additional prep is needed, a $10–$20 prep fee may apply.

ACTIVE‑TIME BILLING
Pricing reflects the quality and detail of the service, not the time it takes. Each retightening includes a set number of hours based on average maintenance needs.
Extra time is only billed when your hair requires additional work due to growth, density, or maintenance needs — never because of the stylist’s pace. My focus is always on healthy, thorough, consistent results.

A service timer is used to ensure fairness. It runs only during active retightening work and pauses during:
* child‑related moments
* bathroom breaks
* grabbing supplies not in the vicinity 
* any non‑service activity
You are charged only for the time your hair is being worked on.

PERSONAL TIME DURING APPOINTMENTS

A 30‑minute break is provided every 8 hours during Microloc and Sisterlocks establishments.
If additional personal time is needed outside of that scheduled break, the extra time will be billed at $35 per hour, calculated in 15‑minute increments. This helps keep the service on track and ensures fairness for both of us.
