Policy and Terms
As I proudly reserve one-on-one time specifically for your pet, I cannot provide any exceptions to this policy and the following fees and terms apply – Vaccinations Your pets’ safety is our top priority. Rabies vaccination is required by Utah state law. We require a current copy of your pet’s vaccination records. By signing this agreement, you are stating the pets in question are fully up to date on required vaccines. If your veterinarian has opted your pet out of receiving a vaccination due to health complications, please provide a letter from them stating so. Requirements: Canines- Rabies, Da2PP, Bordetella, Leptospirosis. Felines- Rabies, FVRCP. Aggressive, Reactive, & Fractious Owner(s) must inform ‘Good Girl Grooming LLC’ if your pet(s) bite, has bitten, or is aggressive to people, other pets, a specific grooming procedure, or requires medication for grooming. If it is necessary for the safety of your pet and the groomer, muzzles, elastic collars, slings, straps, etc. may be safely and humanely used. ‘Good Girl Grooming LLC’ reserves the right to refuse/stop services for such pet(s) at any time before or during the grooming process. Owner(s) may be charged full price for grooming and called to come to pick up their pet. Groomers' hands are their livelihood, which means aggressive dogs and fractious cats will be charged an extra handling fee in addition to the full grooming price. If the pet should bite, the owner agrees to be responsible for any and all related medical bills, recovery costs, loss of income, and equipment damage. Accidents & Injuries Your pet’s safety and comfort is my number one priority. Although accidents are very rare, there's always a risk when handling living, breathing animals. I use extreme caution and care in all situations, but grooming equipment is sharp and possible accidents could occur. This includes, but not limited to, skin irritation, rashes, cuts, knicks, scratches, quicking of nails, etc. In the event that an accident does occur, you will be notified immediately. If I feel it is absolutely necessary and I can not reach you, I will seek immediate veterinary care for your pet and the owner agrees to pay for any and all expenses. Pre-Existing Conditions ‘Good Girl Grooming LLC’ will not be held liable for any pre-existing conditions and injuries that may be aggravated during the grooming process. ‘Good Girl Grooming LLC’ takes every effort to handle, move, and restrain your pet safely and comfortably during the grooming process, but owners are responsible for disclosing and notifying ‘Good Girl Grooming LLC’ of any pre-existing conditions and known or suspected injuries suffered by their dog. Conditions and injuries include, but are not limited to, the following: neck or back issues, orthopedic issues such as arthritis, previous surgeries, seizures, breathing or heart issues, skin issues, etc. Senior & Disabled Grooming procedures can sometimes be stressful, especially for senior dogs or ones with health problems. I will use extra care and patience for older dogs; however, ‘Good Girl Grooming LLC’ will not be held responsible for any reaction due to the mental or physical stress of the procedures. Older dogs will be groomed for cleanliness and comfort, in styles that will not add to their stress. Matting & Shave Down Policy Pets with severely matted coats require extra time and attention. Mats in a pet’s coat grow tight and can eventually damage and tear the skin, leading to a variety of health issues: parasite infestations, infections, irritated/sensitive skin, scabs and sores that are hidden beneath the tangled hair, foxtails/burrs imbedded in the skin and ears, etc. Heavy matting can trap moisture near the skin, allowing mold, fungus, or bacteria to grow, producing skin irritations that exist prior to the grooming process. Removing a heavily matted coat can cause nicks, cuts, or abrasions due to skin growths, among other unknowns, trapped in the mats. I will not cause serious or undue stress to your dog by de-matting excessively matted or pelted coats. Although I will do my best to keep as much of the coat as possible, the severity of matting may require the coat to be shaved. After-effects of mat removal procedures can include, but not limited to, itchiness, skin redness, self-inflicted irritations or abrasions, hematomas, and failure of the hair to regrow. Pets will usually scratch and chew on themselves after grooming because the skin can breathe and feels unusual. If your pet needs to be shaved to remove matting, you acknowledge that you agree to this procedure and any risk presented. There will be added time and cost required to slowly and carefully tend to matted coats. The owner is responsible for the condition of the pet’s coat and may not hold ‘Good Girl Grooming LLC’ responsible in the event of adverse effects of mat/pelt removal. No Owners Present During Groom For the safety of both the pet being groomed and the groomer, I do not allow owners to stay with their pet during their appointment—no exceptions*. It is very important to prevent interruptions or distractions while working. Dogs tend to be anxious and excited to see their owners and may jump around or try to hop off the table to get to their owner, making it extremely difficult and even dangerous to groom them. Some dogs can also be possessive of their owners and will exhibit aggressive behavior towards the groomer. *ADA Service Dog owners are the exception. Photography & Video ‘Good Girl Grooming LLC’ reserves the right to photograph/video your pet for use in promotional and/or educational material. Photographs and/or video of your pet may be used in web and print publications. You have an option to opt out. Pricing, Cancellations & Dropoff/Pickup For all clients, a non-refundable $25 deposit is required to be paid within 24 hours of making the appointment. The deposit amount will be applied to your final payment. Deposits may be transferable for up to one(1) reschedule only, which must be done at least 24 hours before your original appointment time. The deposit is NOT refundable for cancellations—no exceptions. If you are 15 minutes or more past your scheduled appointment time, you forfeit said appointment. To cancel or reschedule your appointment, please do so through my online booking, text, or call at least 24 hours in advance. Failure to provide adequate notice for cancellations or failure to show up to your appointment will result in a cancellation/no-show fee and an additional deposit to be paid before another appointment may be scheduled. An appointment reminder/confirmation text will always be sent to you 24 hours before your scheduled appointment. Late Pick Up: At drop off, you will be given an estimated pick up time. You will be contacted at least 30 minutes before your pet is complete to give you ample time to arrive in time for pick up. Please be on time and show courtesy to me and others’ appointments in order to avoid a $1 per minute charge after the time you were given has passed. Pricing varies based on the services requested and each dog’s breed, size, coat type, coat/skin condition, temperament, and/or special handling needs. Any pre-quoted grooming prices are estimates only and are not final until after the groom is completed. All services must be paid in full upon completion of the groom at the time the dog is picked up. Gratuity is not included in the price of services but are so appreciated if you would like to show extra support to my ever-growing career. Reminder- Please be respectful by having your pet use the restroom PRIOR to the car ride over. If your pet does have an accident, please clean up after them immediately. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding in keeping Good Girl Grooming safe & sanitary!
