Darning: A traditional method of repairing holes using a needle and thread. The thread is woven in rows along the fabric's grain. Patching: A small piece of similar fabric is sewn onto the back of the hole. Invisible mending: A repair that's less obvious or even invisible. Visible mending: A repair that's clearly visible and often decorative.
