Pat dry: Gently pat the area dry with a clean paper towel or let it air dry for 10-15 minutes. Do not rub. Apply ointment/lotion: Apply a very thin layer of your tattoo artist's recommended ointment or a fragrance-free moisturizer to keep the tattoo moist but not suffocated. Do not pick or scratch: Let scabs and flakes fall off naturally. Picking can cause pigment loss or scarring. Avoid water submersion: Do not soak the tattoo in baths, hot tubs, or swimming pools. Showers are okay, but keep them short. Wear loose clothing: Cover the tattoo with loose, breathable clothing to avoid irritation and keep it clean. Avoid tight clothes, and don't re-bandage the tattoo. Protect from the sun: Keep the tattoo out of direct sunlight. You can cover it with loose clothing, but do not apply sunscreen until it is fully healed. Be mindful of sweat: Avoid intense exercise for the first 48 hours to minimize sweating, which can irritate the tattoo. When you do return to the gym, be mindful of contact with surfaces ☆ -𝖒𝖊𝖌
